Along with impressive long-distance hikes, there are various play areas specifically for families on the mountain and in the valley - Montelino’s Adventure Path, Berg Kodok, the Fairytale Forest and much more are enticing.
Hiking routes in Saalbach
An infinite selection of hikes start directly from the Thurnerhof. The various routes take you at a leisurely pace through the mountain and the valley, on isolated paths through ancient woodlands and on challenging sections up impressive summits. Hikers can find a place to enjoy a refreshment stop in one of over 50 Alpine inns – where they will be properly indulged with delicious regional food.

An overview of the categories:
Green: valley paths, easy hikes that are suitable for beginners and families
Blue: Medium difficulty level hikes with moderate ascents, requiring a bit of experience and basic fitness, but which are also fun for children
Red: More challenging routes with steep climbs and uneven terrain; these require experience, surefootedness and good physical condition
Black: difficult and challenging routes which often traverse Alpine terrain; these partly proceed through open terrain. These hikes require Alpine experience, good orienteering skills and an excellent level of physical fitness, as well as surefootedness and a head for heights.

Easy hikes: for instance the educational hiking path in the head of the valley or the path to the summit of the Reiterkogel
